Personal data are collected from authors, reviewers, editors, and readers and include names, email addresses, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, manuscript content, reviewer reports, and correspondence. These data are processed for manuscript submission, peer review, editorial decision-making, publication, quality assurance, and record-keeping, on the basis of legitimate interests and contractual necessity.

Personal data are accessible only to authorised editorial staff, reviewers, and technical service providers (including journal management and hosting platforms). Data are not sold or used for marketing purposes. Where services involve processing outside the UK, appropriate safeguards are applied.

Submission and peer-review records are retained for scholarly record integrity and audit purposes for at 25 years, unless legal or ethical obligations require longer retention.
